Terms of Use

Last updated August 2026

SparkerVoice is a free tool, built by one parent for other families. These terms cover the basics of using it — see the Privacy Policy for what we collect and why.

Who this is for

Accounts are created and managed by the adult caregiver, parent, or therapist — not by the child directly. By creating an account you're confirming you're an adult using this on behalf of, or to support, a child or client. Calm Sandbox works fully with no account at all. The AAC board works with no account too, using a starter set of core words — a free account unlocks the full 1,220+ card library, custom cards, and saving your board across visits.

Your account

Keep your login credentials to yourself, and use accurate info when you sign up. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you ever want your account and its data gone entirely, use the Feedback button and ask — see the Privacy Policy for how that works today.

Content you add

Custom AAC cards, photos, voice recordings, Family Sanctuary journal entries, and SparkConnect posts and messages all stay yours — you're not handing over ownership by uploading them. You're responsible for what you upload: don't add anything you don't have the right to share, or anything illegal, abusive, or harmful. We can remove content that violates these terms.

SparkConnect (community)

Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, or predatory behavior toward other families, therapists, or children. Every 1:1 connection requires mutual approval — no one can message you without your consent — and you can block or report anyone, anytime. We can suspend or remove an account for violating these rules, based on reports or our own review.

Trademarks and licensed content

Any brand names or characters shown in our tools belong to their owners and are used only to help non-speaking users express everyday preferences — PECS® is a registered trademark of Pyramid Educational Consultants. Some AAC card pictures use ARASAAC pictograms (© Government of Aragón, author Sergio Palao) — arasaac.org — licensed CC BY-NC-SA. None of this implies endorsement by those trademark or license holders.

No warranty

SparkerVoice is provided free, "as is." We work hard to keep it accurate and reliable, but it's a communication and sensory-support tool, not a substitute for professional medical, therapeutic, or educational advice — always use your own judgment, and consult a qualified professional for anything that needs one.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, SparkerVoice and its creator aren't liable for damages arising from your use of the app. This is a free, solo-built project — we do our best, but can't offer the guarantees a funded company might.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and note the date at the top.

This describes what SparkerVoice actually does today, written by the person who built it. It isn't a substitute for independent legal advice, and hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer — if you have specific legal or compliance questions, please consult one directly.
