I am the proud parent of twin toddler girls who are on the spectrum. Every single day, I have the joy of watching them learn, grow, and overcome challenges in their own beautiful way. Their progress is a testament to the endless love of our family, the tireless dedication of their therapists, and the warmth of the community that walks beside us.

Navigating this journey firsthand taught me something profound: our neurodivergent and sensory-sensitive community deserves world-class digital tools — built with love, and made available 100% free.

Too often, families face overwhelming financial burdens, expensive subscription paywalls, or endless insurance red tape just to access basic communication and sensory tools for their children. I strongly believe that a child's right to communicate and find their calm should never come with a price tag.

As a senior software engineer, I knew I had a responsibility to put my technical skills to work for a purpose far greater than code. I built SparkerVoice to give non-speaking and sensory-sensitive children a voice through our picture-based AAC speech boards, while providing caregivers and therapists with the tools they need to foster independence, confidence, and milestone victories.

A communication tool that stops working the moment Wi-Fi does isn't good enough for real life — a park, a car, a school hallway with spotty signal. Once the AAC board and Calm Sandbox have loaded on your device once, the full built-in card library and every sensory tool keep working with no internet connection at all. (Your own uploaded photos and voice recordings still need a connection to load, the same as any photo stored online — everything built into the app from day one doesn't.)

This isn't a "one-and-done" project. SparkerVoice is a lifelong commitment. We are building a continuous ecosystem of digital tools designed to simplify daily routines, ease sensory overwhelm, and help our children achieve genuine independence as they grow.

Beyond the speech tools, we built SparkConnect — our private, safe community lounge where families, therapists, and educators can connect, share custom visual boards, swap advice, and celebrate every win together. You are never alone on this road.

Your family's safety matters as much as your child's voice. Every connection on SparkConnect requires mutual approval — no one can message you without your consent — and you can block or report anyone, anytime. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted — not even we can read them.
